Wheatley Hills u10s vs. Thirsk u10s 25th March 2007 It was a competitive game for Wheatley. Our first try scorer of the game was Stephen Devine after a ruck, Latham shipped the ball out to Stephen and Stephen broke away. Soon after, Joe Craswell ripped the ball out of the maul and sprinted 20 yards to score their next try. Thirsk soon replied and scored their first try of the match. Later on in the second half, Thirsk almost scored. However, a great tackle from Marcus Hobbs stopped them, and Thomas Kerry picked up the ball and ran on to score the third try. A mistake from Thirsk allowed Wheatley’s Joe Craswell to pick up the ball and score his second try of the match, and soon after one of Wheatley’s loaned players scored a superb try. Marcus Hobbs then went onto score a try for Wheatley, raising the score to 7-0, and after that the unstoppable Stephen Devine scored an amazing 3 tries in succession. Coach Pat Devine said that was the best game he had ever seen Wheatley play. The game report by: Joe Craswell and Laura Blessed
